I AM

This is Kate (left) and Rachel (right). Both adopted from China many years ago and now living in Ponte Vedre, FL. Rachael had heart transplant surgery about 3 years ago. This week Rachel made the Jr. High basketball team as a developmental player.

I AM

John 15, part one

I am the true vine and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away and every branch that bears fruit He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit for apart from Me you can do nothing.

I AM X 7

Seven (the number representing perfection) times in the book of John, Jesus gives a descriptive phrase expressing His saving grace preceded by I AM …

  • I AM the Bread of life
  • I AM the Light of the world
  • I AM the Door of the sheep
  • I AM the Good Shepherd
  • I AM the Resurrection and the Life
  • I AM the True Vine

When God called Moses to rescue Israel from the Egyptians, Moses asked, ‘who should I say sent me?’

God said to Moses, I AM WHO I AM; and He said, Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ This is My name forever.

The book of John is a definitive statement that Jesus is God and His role within the Trinity is to save. He is God, our Savior.

This morning I hope to bring you a chill and a tear through these two videos. Don’t miss ‘em.

Who is Jesus? Listen to this 3-minute video. If this doesn’t send a glorious chill through your body, then check your pulse. It is a vignette of one of the most famous sermons of the twentieth century. “That’s my King! Do you know Him?” by S.M. Lockridge.

Link to this second video. This song is titled “I AM” by Mark Schultz. Always brings tears to my eyes.

Jesus, You are my God and Savior. You are my All in All. We bless You for Who You are; for the saving work You perfectly perform; for caring about me and saving me. Amen!
