Psalms 141
This is a picture of my Pacific Christian College basketball team, 1979, in between classes. I’m on the far left. I like to tell people that I played College basketball. They look at my 5’8″ frame and look surprised. But just between me and you…..it was a very small college.
Psalms 141
“Lord, I call upon you; hasten to me; give ear to my voice when I call to You. May my prayer be counted as incense before you; the lifting of hands as the evening offering. Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the doors of my lips; do not incline my heart to do any evil thing. For my eyes are toward you, O God, the Lord; in you I take refuge; do not leave me defenseless.”
Lord, may I call upon you always and often. I need you always! May my communication to You be as sweet incense and an acceptable offering that will bring You joy, dear Lord. Father, guard me and protect me as a father carefully watches over his son. Guard my heart and my mouth from evil, selfishness and sin. When someone fixes their eyes on me, I know I have their attention. I supposed prayers can happen without fixing our eyes on the Lord, such as repeated prayers, routine prayers, “going through the motions” prayers, etc. May my prayers not be so. May I fix my eyes on you with attentive focus. Amen!
